FUN THINGS TO DO IN MAUI---

Upon arrival, at baggage claim get some activity books.  They havYou e lots of excursions and activities to do & companies to book through.

These are the things WE love to do---

Your first trip to Hawaii should include a LUAU--Old Lahaina is considered by many to be the Best luau, but they are usually booked  up 6 months in advance.  Our favorite is Drums of the Pacific-- at the Hyatt.

Sunrise at Haleakala Crater is breathtaking!!!  You do have to get up in the middle of the night to get there for it though.  If you are in great physical shape--- Do the bicycle ride down the crater!!!

Road Trip to Hana--- All day-- Some folks love, some folks hate it (my sister calls it the road to hell!!)  You go through miles of windy roads with breathtaking views & waterfalls.  Take time to get out and walk to waterfalls.  We like to go in the back way, up the road to the winery and around getting to the 7 pools first and really enjoying walking to the pools & taking pics of breathtaking views.  A picnic here is fun.  Then we proceed to Hana.  You can get some great fruit and beautiful flowers at honor stands for great prices!!!!

Our favorite is Snorkeling---Lots of fish (all kinds)-- Honolua Bay, just past Fleming Beach Park-- park on the side of the road & walk down a path.  Take a picnic, it is a great place to enjoy!!!  Snorkel down the right side, out a good distance.  If there are snorkel boats out there, go where those folks go.  It is amazing!!!!

My favorite place in the WORLD--- Napili Point Resort (not Napili Bay, though it is fun), snorkel with TURTLES!!!!  You need to go early, you will have to park on the street near Napili Point Resort.  You walk through the resort (Hawaii law says they have to allow everyone access to the inlet, so no one will question your right to be there).  When you see the volcanic rocks out in the water, you will know you are at the right place.  Put your shoes & towels on the rocks--the resort doesn't want visitor cluttering up their grounds.  We climb down on the rocks to go in there.  Anyone there will be glad to show you how to go in.  There are turtles all in there!!!  One could be swimming near you and you may not realize he is there.  This experience is PRICELESS!!!!

Front Street-- Lahaina--Great area for shopping, sunsets, & restaurants!!!   The Harbor near Front Street has free visitor parking across from the BANYAN tree (largest & oldest in the world!!!)  Sometimes crafters are set up around the Banyan tree.  ***Down the Hatch--- our favorite Shaved Ice!!!  They also have great food!!!

Restaurants---

Mama's Fish House (most expensive, but 5 star & beautiful views.  If you want to go there, call as soon as you get to Maui or book online now.

Ka'anapali Beach Hotel--Sunday brunch (make reservations).  They have a wonderful variety of food and fun entertainment.  ** Black Rock-- a short walk from the hotel.  Lots of folks jump off the rock (also pretty good snorkeling.

Sea House Restaurant-- Napili Bay-- not too pricy and a beautiful place to eat, great sunset views over the bay!!!
